When I read a Kaje Harper book my emotions are fully engaged, but with this story it didn't happen -- even though I really liked the characters and the plot. With this story, though, I felt detached, maybe I was doing my own astral projection, but even the resolution of the suspense left me disconnected and cold. It was probably because the concept was truly frightening and after all that Roman suffered I wanted blood, mayhem and guts.
For a good review, read Lady M's review. She nails it.
Thank you, Ms. Harper, for this story.
