I am happy that Michael and James got their happily ever after. But my first love still belongs to Tony, that marvelous Italian Stallion, and Ret. Major Jack.
If there's one thing that shone through this story is compassionate caring, and true acceptance. It shines through Michael when he's interacting with his patients, and I was sorry to leave them behind because they were so much part of the story. The poignant scenes with Tommy and Lem were gut-wrenching, and as a reader I was rooting for them. I was hoping that they too would get their share of happiness, acceptance and love.
We live in a world of such perfection. If you have any imperfection, the doors start to close, and loneliness and isolation follow behind. May each of us have the blessing and joy to find our Michael in our friends or loved ones.
