2.5this book reads like a manual on bdsm because it really isn't about the characters, but about the different styles of bdsm. The book, the writing is cold and factual. I felt nothing for these heroes. In fact, I felt nothing at all while reading this book. It was more of a case study about an abused sub who has physical and psychological problems and how they get resolved through another style of bdsm (sort of pain/humiliation BDSM versus discipline bdsm).
